Jefferson City Council to Table Parking Ordinance
JEFFERSON CITY - Third Ward Councilman Bob Scrivner announced this morning that he will withdraw a controversial new parking ordinance at the Nov. 7 City Council meeting.
The ordinance would have allowed paid permit holders to park at metered spots for free.
The bill was discussed at several Public Works and Planning Committee meetings and the Traffic and Transportation Committee, and was introduced to the Jefferson City Council on Oct. 17. The bill has received much feedback, both positive and negative, from residents and business owners.
The city held a public forum on Nov. 1 to obtain additional feedback, which was attended by about a dozen community members.
