Jefferson City man accused of kidnapping teen he met online
CAMDENTON — A Jefferson City man was behind bars Friday morning after accusations he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman he met through an online dating site April 1.
35-year-old Michael Eric Dickson was arrested by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday after a week long investigation.
According to the victim, she and Dickson agreed to meet in person last Friday, so Dickson went to her home just north of Camdenton. The sheriff’s office said the victim then got into the car with Dickson and began to talk. He started to drive away with the woman still in the car. When the victim asked where they were going deputies said Dickson said, “You belong to me now.”
The sheriff’s office said Dickson proceeded to take the victim to his home in Jefferson City where he sexually assaulted her. He later returned her to her home where she contacted the sheriff’s office.
Dickson is charged with kidnapping and is being held at the Camden County Adult Detention Facility without bond. He is expected to appear in court May 10.
The investigation into the sexual assault will be conducted in cooperation with authorities in Cole County.
