Jefferson City man seriously injured in motor scooter accident
JEFFERSON CITY - A motor vehicle collision left a man seriously injured Friday morning.
Elmer Redcay, 62, was northbound on Eastland Drive on his motor scooter when a southbound Chevrolet Impala hit him while trying to turn left into a McDonald's parking lot.
Redcay was ejected from his vehicle. Officers and emergency personnel found him on the ground with serious injuries before taking him by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
He was wearing a Department of Transportation approved helmet.
The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was not injured.
The crash is under investigation by the Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit.
