JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City Parks and Recreation department will no longer offer competitive baseball and softball leagues starting next year.
According to the Jefferson City News-Tribune, city officials are saying public leagues have struggled to compete with their private counterparts.
Contained in a department report, teams in its baseball leagues have fluctuated every year and the number of softball teams have decreased every year since 2008.
