Jefferson City Police make arrest in murder case
JEFFERSON CITY - Police have made an arrest in the investigation of a suspicious death in April.
A 16-year-old Jefferson City male was detained yesterday and could face charges of murder and armed criminal action for the death of Jerry Robertson.
According to police, Robertson was assaulted in the 1400 block of East Miler Street just after 11 p.m. on April 21st. Medics arrived and found the victim suffered wounds consistent with blunt force trauma. He was then taken to University Hospital with critical injuries, and died a short time after.
JCPD Detectives opened an investigation into the case under what officers called suspicious circumstances, and eventually focused in on the 16-year-old male.
No further information was provided, or will be released about the suspect due to his juvenile status.
