JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City Police officers responded to a disturbance at 116 Ventura Avenue early Sunday morning.
The suspect, Stacy R. Bax, a 40-year-old Jefferson City resident, initially told officers that she was assaulted in the parking lot of 116 Ventura Ave and that she had stabbed someone.
When officers arrived on the scene they discovered there were two victims with stab wounds. The first victim, Leslie A. Blank, 41, of Jefferson City had a stab wound to her buttocks. The second victim, Shane Otto, 37, of Jefferson City had a stab wound to his hand.
The on-scene investigation determined that Bax and Blank had been involved in a verbal altercation over the phone.
The department said the pair agreed to meet and Bax became angry and pulled a butcher knife out and stabbed Blank and then Otto.
The victim's wounds were minor and they were treated at a local hospital and released. Stacey R. Bax is in custody in the Cole County Jail pending charges for second degree assault and armed criminal action.
