Jefferson City School District names new superintendent
JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City Public School District Board of Education has named Larry Linthacum as their new superintendent.
Linthacum will start work as superintendent on July 1, 2015, replacing Superintendent Brian Mitchell. Mitchell announced his retirement in October.
The Board of Education voted unanimously on Thursday, December 18 to have Linthacum take the position.
Linthacum is currently serving as superintendent of Maryville R-II School District.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and is currently a doctoral candidate at the university.
Linthacum has been an educator for 20 years.
