Jefferson City shooting leaves one injured
JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City police were investigating a Tuesday evening shots fired incident that left a man with an apparent gunshot wound.
According to police, the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. in the 600 block of East McCarty St.
A news release said officers found shell casings in the area when they arrived. Police said a vehicle fled the scene.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle failed to yield, police said. The officers followed the vehicle to a hospital where they found an unknown male victim with the gunshot wound.
Police on scene told KOMU 8 News they were waiting for a search warrant to enter a home on McCarty Street.
