JeffTran Proposes Midday Break
JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City will hold public hearings on Wednesday and Thursday to look at budget options for Jefferson City's transit system.
City officials are looking at creating a midday break in services from 11:20 am to 2:40 pm to help with budget concerns.
A midday break would include suspending service to routes that aid disabled residents and help students who live outside of school bus limits.
If the proposal is approved, the transit system will save $55,000.
The city chose a midday time period because it has the lowest number of riders.
Public hearings are Wednesday at 11:30 am, and 3:30 pm on Thursday.
