Jury finds Jefferson City man guilty of selling cocaine
JEFFERSON CITY - A Cole County jury found a Jefferson City man guilty of selling cocaine on Tuesday.
Officers testified that Jerry White, Jr. sold cocaine to a confidential informant for $100 in May 2011 during an undercover operation.
"I am pleased that the Cole County citizens that served on the jury reached a just decision," said Assistant Prosecutor Steven M. Kretzer, who tried the case for the state.
Prior to the trial, the court ruled that White had a prior drug felony conviction. This finding means White will be sentenced to a Class A felony, which is punishable in Missouri by 10 to 30 years in prison or a life sentence.
The court indicated the matter would be set for a sentencing hearing at a later date.
