Kansas City police capture Camden County shooting suspect
CAMDENTON - The Camden County Sheriff's Department announced Friday the capture of man accused of shooting a deer rifle into an occupied car in 2013.
Deputies said Kansas City police arrested Danny D. Slater, 58, Wednesday, for two outstanding warrants. Slater had a warrant out for his arrest after he's accused of firing a deer rifle into someone's car while they were stopped by a makeshift roadblock.
Kansas City police found Slater after people identified his crashed vehicle which he used in a road block.
During the investigation, Slater told police he was an undercover CIA operative and could not reveal the identity of the shooter.
After more investigation and interviews with Slater, officials found it was Slater who was the shooter.
Slater left the Kansas City area during the investigation and has been on Camden County's most wanted list for two years.
Slater was being held at the Camden County Adult Detention Facility Friday for two counts of the class B felony of first degree assault.
His court date is set for October 13.
