Kansas City police stop digging yard in 1993 case
KANSAS CITY (AP) - Kansas City police have called off a search of a backyard after receiving a tip about a woman missing since 1993.
Police have been looking for Laura Mason, who was 45 when she was last seen on March 28, 1993. She was seen getting into a car with a male acquaintance outside a jazz club. The man has told police he dropped her off at another jazz club. No one has seen her since then.
The Kansas City Star reported that after receiving a tip, police began digging Wednesday in the backyard of a Kansas City home for remains. But police called off the search Thursday, saying they were unable to find anything.
