KC Man Killed By Police Suspected in 3 Homicides
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City police are investigating whether a man who killed two women before he was fatally wounded in a Thanksgiving gunbattle is responsible for a third woman's death.
Officers shot 64-year-old Jerry Petty outside his home. Inside, officers found the body of his 53-year-old wife, Loretta Petty, and her 16-year-old goddaughter, Deja Davis.
The Kansas City Star reported that the body of a third woman, 56-year-old Denise Hall, was found Saturday. Police said the acquaintance of Petty was shot to death at least two days earlier.
Homicide Capt. Floyd Mitchell says police are looking at evidence that might link the cases.
Police said they thought Jerry Petty had been pawning items recently for drug money. And friends of the slain couple think Jerry Petty robbed Hall.
