COLUMBIA - Keep Columbia Free, a poltical action group is protesting EEZ or Enhanced Enterprise Zone at the Columbia City Council meeting tonight.

The group's president, Mark Flakne, says the protest will show the group's disappointment in local elected representatives.

"These people were elected to represent people," said Flakne. "They aren't elected to represent the interests of people trying to promote businesses."

Flakne also said he expects more than 100 people to show up. The group will be registering voters tonight, will bring a megaphone for people to voice their concerns, and Treasurer Mitch Richards will speak to city council. The group is also bringing a consultant from the Show-Me Institute to talk about EEZs in other areas of Missouri.

The protest will start around 6:30 and will culminate in the talks at City Council.
