Kinsler Crushes First Homer
ARLINGTON, TX - Former Mizzou Tiger Ian Kinsler, the Texas Rangers starting second baseman, slugged his first major league home run on Thursday. Kinsler's solo shot came in the bottom of the fifth inning off Detroit left-hander Nate Robertson.
Kinsler went 3 for 3 on the night, including another single to left field in the 7th. The former Tiger's offensive outburst was in a losing effort as the Rangers ultimately fell to the Tigers SCORE.
Kinsler was a shortstop at Mizzou in 2003 before being drafted in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.
