Komen Race Coming to Columbia
COLUMBIA - The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is coming to Columbia for the first time.
Racers began registering this afternoon for the September 19th race.
The 3.5 mile course helps raise money for breast cancer research.
Participants can walk, run, and form teams.
The event will feature live entertainment, activities for kids and prizes.
Survivors of breast cancer get free food, messages, and entertainment.
Columbia's chapter co-founder said, "We had to wait over a year before we could even apply for the race, so we're really thrilled that we now have our own race in Columbia and um hope that everyone will come out for it."
