COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Columbia, Mo., has Shakespeare's Pizza, and Columbia, S.C., has burger joint Pawleys Front Porch.

In preparation for Missouri's first Southeastern Conference football road game Saturday against South Carolina, KOMU 8's Andrew Carter is visiting the Gamecocks' home city. He ended up at Pawleys, a college hot spot in the Five Points neighborhood.

Newspapers have named the restaurant best place to dine outdoors, as well as best new restaurant, manager Benjamin Griffin said. Pawley's has been featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" about two years ago, something that nearly tripled business, he said.

The restaurant draws customers with outdoor seating open almost all year and a slew of burgers. One, the Kiawah, has marinated portobello mushrooms, fire-roasted peppers and melted brie, according to the menu.
