Lake of the Ozarks awarded by major news publication
LAKE OF THE OZARKS - Missouri's largest state park has been named the best recreational lake in the nation by USA Today.
'It's humbling and it's an honor," said Jim Divincen, Administrator for Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association, "We realized we have all these amenities for visitors, but when you look at the people we were competing with in the USA Today reader's survey, it really endorses how many different things and what a wonderful place it is to visit and live."
Big Bear Lake, Lake Tahoe and Lake Cumberland were just a few of the locations the Lake of the Ozarks beat to win the title.
Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association plans on incorporating the award into its upcoming branding and advertising.
Now that the lake has received this national honor, Divincen hopesn it will give the Lake of the Ozarks more exposure outside Missouri.
The lake offers many activities for guests including fishing, shopping, boating, water sports and golfing.
Divincen was thankful to all of the Lake of the Ozarks fans that voted and helped the area win the award.
