Last Day for Voter Registration
JEFFERSON CITY - October 6 is the last day Missourians can register to vote. Voters must register in person, by mail or online by the end of the day. People can register at their local election office, DMV or public library.
Missouri's secretary of state office says many typically miss the cutoff. US Census Bureau figures estimate more than 5 million voters nationwide didn't vote in November 2006 because they missed their state's deadline to register.
MU political science professor Peverill Squire said republicans will probably come out in larger numbers to vote than democrats but it still remains to be seen.
Republicans saw record-high turnouts in the August primaries. But, Squire said "the November election is a different monster.
