Last Suspect in Mosely Case Goes to Trial
JEFFERSON CITY - The jury trial for the third suspect in the April 2012 killing of Keith Mosely began Monday.
Khiry Summers, 21, refused a plea deal in the case last May. He is charged with second-degree murder, first degree robbery and armed criminal action. Prosecutors said Summers was masked and armed when he, Brandon Chase, and Tracy Session came to Mosely's apartment to rob him during a drug deal.
Session has already pleaded guilty to firing the shot that killed Mosely and just last month Chase was found guilty of being the architect of the robbery.
In its opening statement, the defense argued that Summers fired three warning shots but left the scene before Session fired the fatal shot.
Jurors heard testimony from the first round of witnesses.
The trial is expected to finish this week.
