COLUMBIA - The weekend's second school record was dropped by the Tigers on Saturday, as senior Laura Roxberg knocked off her own mile record after running 4:34.59 to win her heat and place second overall at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Washington.

This time beats Roxberg's previous record of 4:39.91 from the 2012 Alex Wilson Invitational in Notre Dame. Now, two weeks out of the SEC Championships, she now sits on the top of the rankings in the mile for the conference, and No. 3 in the nation.

Other key performances from Saturday's competitions include a win in the triple jump, and two more PR performances, starting with sophomore Mitch Hatten in the high jump.

Hatten continued his string of personal bests in the event today with a mark of 2.06m (6-9). He made quick business of the first four marks, sailing over the bar on the first attempt at each to lead the competition before getting knocked out at 2.10m (6-10.75) for a fourth place finish.

The second PR of the day brings us back to the west coast, where Merid Seleshi finished fourth in his heat of the mile with a final time of 4:08.48. This bests his previous best mark made at the beginning of the season at the Missouri Invitational.

Finally, freshman Tony Carodine continued his impressive debut season in the jumps today, tallying win number two. Carodine hit the competitive runway for the first time since his long jump victory in Kentucky two weeks ago to hit a best mark of 5.15m (49-8.50) on his final attempt in the triple jump.

The Tigers are home next with the Collegiate Challenge on Friday. That will be their last competition before they head back down to Arkansas for their first indoor SEC Championship meet (Feb. 22-24).
