Lawsuit Filed Against General Motors
The lawsuit was filed Monday in federal court in Jefferson City. It claims the automaker should have recalled seven and a half million trucks, vans and sport-utility vehicles from model years 1994-1999 because of faulty wipers, when it only recalled 1.7 million. A GM spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment. The lawsuit claims a federal investigation found that wiper problems have caused at least eleven crashes and 225,000 warranty claims. The lawsuit asks a court to require GM to recall vehicles still needing repairs and to reimburse people's repair costs.
