Legislator Files Renewable Energy Initiative
JEFFERSON CITY - Director of Renew Missouri P.J. Wilson filed a ballot initiative which would create new renewable energy standards for the state.
The measure makes all investor-owned utilities in Missouri reach a 25 percent renewable energy goal by 2025. It would also prevent Missourians from using renewable energy that is not from Missouri and grant the state's Public Service Commission the right to enforce new energy efficiency standards.
Wilson filed a similar measure on the 2008 ballot, which passed with 66 percent of the vote.
