JEFFERSON CITY — After setting the NCAA Division II's fastest time in the 400-meter dash last weekend, Lincoln University runner Donna-Lee Hylton has been recognized as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Division II Women's Track National Athlete of the Week announced Monday.
Recording a time of 54.56 in the 400-meter dash, Hylton won the finals of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational this past weekend, automatically qualifying her for the Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships. The Blue Tiger faced many Division I competitors, including runners from Illinois, Drake and Kentucky. Three times have automatically qualified this year, with Hylton's standing as the fastest.
The USTFCCCA added another Blue Tiger, Latoya King to the honorable mentions list for this week's award.
