Lincoln University student gets robbed near convenience store
JEFFERSON CITY - A Lincoln University student was robbed Thursday morning while headed toward campus. The attack took place on East Dunklin Street after the student had left Breaktime on Clark Avenue.
The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim from behind and struck him over the head with a gun. The suspect then held the victim at gun point and demanded for his cell phone and wallet. Little information is known from witnesses about the suspect.
Lincoln University Police Department, Lieutenant Greg McKinney, said the campus is safe and that he could infact sleep safely outside.
Students at the university attest that the crime rate on campus has decreased.
The name of the victim and the suspect is unknown.
