6:34 p.m. - Air Force One took off from Whiteman Air Force Base, concluding President Obama's visit. During his speech at the University of Central Missouri, he spoke about tuition and jobs, and singled out the Missouri Innovation Campus program.
6:24 p.m. - President Obama walked up the stairs of Air Force One for his departure from Whiteman Air Force Base.
6:11 p.m. - President Obama returned to Whiteman Air Force Base where he will board Air Force One for a trip to Jacksonville, Florida. He was expected to leave within a few minutes.
5:49 p.m. The stage emptied at UCM rec center. Most of the crowd has left.
5:43 p.m. - The President mingled in UCM Rec Center. He interrupted hand-shaking to wipe his brow. He took off his jacket at the beginning of the speech, commenting on the heat.
5:40 p.m. - President Obama wrapped up his speech at UCM.
5:37 p.m.- Obama praised Innovation Campus program, saying it allows students to get a bachelors degree in two years provides connections to business and internship opportunities. KOMU 8 Producer Michele Schuelke tweeted:

5:33 p.m. - The president's Twitter feed had one opinion, while Missouri Republicans shared another.

5:31 p.m. - President Obama: "Our kids don't care about politics. We should prove we care about them."
5:30 p.m. - President Obama said the days when someone with just a high school education could make a good living are over.
5:28 p.m. - President Obama said if people think education is expensive, they should brace for how expensive ignorance will be in the 21st century. Obama said the U.S. will have to invest in education or put businesses and families at a competitive disadvantage.
5:26 p.m. - KOMU 8 Producer Michelle Schuelke tweeted on President Obama's message to lawmakers.
5:23 p.m. - The Missouri Republican Party tweeted Obama claims to be serious about jobs, yet unemployment and jobless rates do not seem to budge.
5:21 p.m. - A discussion continued on Twitter about how to pronounce Missouri. President Obama said Miss-ur-ah.
5:18 p.m. - President Obama said gritty, hard-working Americans have helped fuel an economic recovery.
5:17 p.m. - Kansas City Mayor Sly James tweeted picture of President Obama speaking at UCM.
5:13 p.m. - President Obama said the University of Central Missouri knows what it takes for America to get ahead in the 21st century.
5:11 p.m. - President Obama said it's great to be back in Missouri. He said it's hot in the rec center, so he took off his jacket.
5:09 p.m. - President Obama took the stage at the University of Central Missouri and began his speech.
5:02 p.m. - UCM alum's tweet captured sense of anticipation that built on campus.

4:12 p.m. - KOMU 8 Reporter Lauren Bale reportered the heat is causing problems at the University of Central Missouri.

3:52 p.m. - KOMU 8 Reporter Devon Fasbinder reported Air Force One will be "wheels down" at 4:30 p.m. according to Whiteman Air Force Base.
3:44 p.m. - Officials at Whiteman Air Force Base told KOMU 8 Reporter Devon Fasbinder that President Obama is running about 30 minutes behind.
3:42 p.m. - The event at University of Central Missouri has started, with remarks from the school's leader.
3:30 p.m. - KOMU 8 Producer James Parham said the governor has arrived at Whiteman.
3:24 p.m. - KOMU 8 Reporter Devon Fasbinder said the press has been told Governor Jay Nixon was headed to Whiteman Air Force Base to meet President Obama.
3:23 p.m. - White House pool reporter said President Obama was about to depart Knox College in Illinois after delivering an hour-long speech.
3:20 p.m. - A Missouri Republican group tweeted a photo of UCM protestors against President Obama.

1:37 p.m. - 200 new UCM students waited to see President Obama on their first day on campus. UCM President Chuck Ambrose tweeted a picture.
1:34 p.m. - KOMU 8 Reporter Devon Fasbinder sent picture of tight security as Whiteman Air Force Base waits for President Obama's arrival.
1:30 p.m. - This was tweeted by Mark Siettman, a staffer for Sen. Will Kraus, R-Lee's Summit, who is a UCM alum. Siettman said Kraus sponsored the bill, signed by Gov. Jay Nixon, that set up the innovative campus initiative which Obama will speak about in Missouri today.

11:00 a.m. - President Obama set to being speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., at 11:55 a.m. He is expected to depart for Warrensburg around 3:50 p.m.
