Local Artists to Paint Bus Station
The art would commemorate the history of the bus station, and what it has meant to Columbia over the years. Columbia artist David Spear, who will be creating the paintings, says this will be funded by the city, and he and the other artist were willing to split the money for the project.
"Don and I were pretty, just, kind of excited to get to do something for Columbia in a public space. The whole currency issue didn't really come into affect there for us," he said.
The project proposals will be on display at the city hall building downtown until September 29th. There's a comment box next to the displays. Spear says he looks forward to feedback from the community, including ideas and stories about the station.
