MACON - Three law enforcement agencies were looking for a Macon man early Friday afternoon suspected of statutory rape and child molestation who they say fled home after learning about police involvement.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Macon County Sheriff's Office, and the Macon Police Department were searching for 51-year-old Robert Mausser on accusations of statutory rape, child molestation and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.

The report said Mausser has contacts in Michigan, but police believed he was still in the Macon County area as of Friday afternoon.

Police don't know if Mausser is armed.

Authorities said Mausser mentioned intentionally harming himself before he fled in a black 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with Missouri license plate DD2-S8L.

The Macon Police Department urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to call them at (660) 385-2195.
