Macon Police Interrupt Theft in Progress
MACON - Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Macon police officers interrupted a theft in progress after seeing a vehicle outside Rock Hill Mechanical Corporation on 308 Lake Street.
The officers approached the building and two male suspects fled on foot, heading south. Macon Police Department officers and canine unit, Macon Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Department of Conservation launched a search for the suspects.
Around 8:30 a.m., officers apprehended a 26-year-old white male suspect from Kansas City, Mo. Officers are continuing to search for the second male suspect. Macon Police Department says the man is between 6'0 and 6'2 and 220-250 pounds. Officers last saw the man wearing a dark sweatshirt, shorts, and tennis shoes, as well as an article to cover his face.
Macon Police Department believe the suspects may be involved in multiple thefts from Rock Hill Mechanical. Chief Steve Olinger says police recovered a U-Haul truck from the scene, which he says is stolen from the Kansis City area.
The investigation is ongoing.
