Man arrested for felonious restraint, five other offenses
COLUMBIA - A man was arrested on six different counts Friday night, including felonious restraint, after police discovered he was not allowing someone out of their residence according to the Columbia Police Department.
Officers were sent around 7:30 p.m. to a residence on Fairview Avenue where Aaron Barfield had tied the victim's door shut with a power cord, not allowing him to leave.
Barfield had hit the victim in the face, threatened him and pointed a gun at him. The victim had swelling on his face from being hit, according to police.
Barfield is a convicted felon, and was found with methamphetamine and pipes with marijuana residue.
The other counts against Barfield include felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor domestic assault, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful posession of a firearm.
