Man Arrested for Seven Counts of Forgery

COLUMBIA- The Boone County Sheriff's Department's Pro-Active Patrol Unit responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Kitty Hawk Drive in reference to locating a suspect wanted for committing multiple forgeries at businesses in the city of Columbia and in Boone County.

On July 11, 2012 at approxiametly 9:30pm the suspect, 28-year-old Demetrius Kelly of Columbia, fled when Partol Unit arrived and after a foot pursuit, he was located trying to hide under a mobile home in a nearby parking lot. A physical struggle ensued and Kelly was taken into custody shortly after. Neither Kelly nor the deputies sustained any serious injuries.

Kelly was taken into custody for the following offenses:

Resisting or interfering with arrest (Felony,) Missouri RSMO 575.150
Two counts of Forgery, Missouri RSMO 570.090

In addition, the Columbia Police Department also arrested Kelly for seven counts of Forgery.

Kelly's total bond was set at $45,000.
