PAGEDALE (AP) - A newspaper says a man accused of leaving the scene of an accident that killed one boy and seriously injured his brother as the victims walked to a convenience store has a history of impaired driving.
Before being charged Monday, 54-year-old Ricky Weeden has been convicted of driving while intoxicated at least five times. That's according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch review of court records.
Investigators say 4-year-old Trayeshon Williams died at the scene of the accident Friday after a pickup truck hit him and his 10-year-old brother as they were crossing a Pagedale street to go to a convenience store. The older boy is hospitalized.
Weeden is jailed. Online court records don't show whether he has an attorney, and he does not have a listed home telephone number.
