Man Arrested With 102 Pounds of Marijuana in Cooper County
COOPER COUNTY - A trooper from the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a 64-year-old man from South Carolina in Cooper County when the trooper said he found 102 pounds of marijuana in the backseat and trunk of the man's car.
Gary Pinson from Rock Hill, South Carolina faces a first degree drug trafficking charge. He was taken to the Cooper County Jail.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a trooper stopped Pinson's 2013 Lincoln MKS for a traffic violation on I-70 eastbound, near mile marker 93. The trooper said he noticed Pinson's behavior was inconsistent and deceptive. The trooper asked to search Pinson's car, but he declined.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol canine was called to the scene and gave a positive indication of drugs. The trooper then searched the car, locating the large amount of drugs.
