Man Injured After Shots Fired on Worley Street
COLUMBIA - Columbia Police said a man is in stable condition after being shot Saturday night on Worley Street.
Lieutenant John Gordon said officers responded to Worley Street and McBaine Avenue just after 9 p.m. He said the dispatch call came in at 9:05 p.m. and indicated shots had been fired and a person had been injured.
Gordon said when officers arrived minutes later they saw a group of people run in several directions.
Gordan said the man injured received two gunshot wounds during the incident, but had left the area before officers arrived. He said the man went to University Hospital in a personal vehicle.
Gordon said the department did not have any leads as to who may have been involved in the incident as of 11 p.m. Saturday. He said the investigation is ongoing.
