Man recharged in 2011 hotel killing in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD (AP) — A 53-year-old man has been recharged with killing a woman five years ago at a Springfield hotel.
Terry Morrison is jailed without bond in Greene County, where he was charged this week with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Pristina Tyner. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that Morrison was originally charged in September 2011 in connection with Tyner's death earlier that month. But prosecutors dropped charges later that year, saying a key witness gave "ambiguous testimony" in a preliminary hearing. The witness has since explained that the reason was she feared for "her family's wellbeing."
Prosecutors also said Wednesday that two other eyewitnesses had been located after the preliminary hearing.
