Man rescued from Mississippi River mud
ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis emergency crews have rescued a man from the Mississippi River.
St. Louis Fire Department Capt. Garon Mosby says the man became stuck in the mud Sunday with his head above water near the McKinley Bridge.
Two firefighters swam out to the man and freed him. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. He was listed as stable.
Mosby told The St. Louis Post-Dispatch he did not know how long the man had been in the water or how he wound up there.
