Man Suspected in 'Fake Beard' Robbery Caught
FORT SMITH, Ark. -- Police say a man wanted in a pair of Fort Smith bank robberies -- and who wore a fake beard during one of them -- has been arrested.
Fort Smith police said in a news release that 39-year-old Jason Andrew Day was arrested at his home in Tulsa, Okla., by FBI agents on Friday.
Day was wanted for a July 22 attempted robbery and an Aug. 23 armed robbery. Police used electronic billboards to circulate Day's picture. A man wearing fake beard was also wanted for robberies in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
The U.S. Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant after two witnesses identified Day as the robber. Fort Smith police say Day was being held by Tulsa police, where a spokesman didn't immediately return a call for comment.
