Man suspected in February robbery arrested
COLUMBIA - Law enforcement arrested a man on Wednesday, more than a month after he allegedly robbed a man at the victim's home.
Anthony Acton, 26, is in the Boone County jail. A judge gave him no bond for the robbery charge, and $100,000 cash only for failing to follow court instructions in a previous case, in which he was charged with robbery, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a gun.
According to the probable cause statement connected to the robbery, which happened in February, Acton went to a friend's house unannounced and saw money inside the home. He apparently asked for the money, and when the victim refused to give it to him, Acton allegedly pulled out a gun and said, "I can put one in your head and one in your chest and just take this, or you can just up what you got."
Acton then allegedly took $400. The victim said he ran to his car and left, afraid Acton would shoot him.
In November, a grand jury indicted Acton for a robbery in August, in which he and another person allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint.
