Man Taken Into Custody for Driving Vehicle with Stolen Plates
BOONE COUNTY - A Boone County Sheriff's Department Deputy took a man into custody Wednesday night after learning he was driving a vehicle with stolen plates.
The deputy took Joseph Vance of Belle Isle, Florida, into custody after stopping the vehicle, which was traveling eastbound, near the 130 mile marker of I-70 at about 10 p.m. Wednesday night. Joseph was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
The Chevrolet Impala that Vance was driving had plates that were reported stolen to the Lincoln, Nebraska Police Department on July 13.
There were several items recovered from inside the vehicle, that had also been stolen during separate thefts in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Vance was processed for tampering with a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license.
Vance's bond was set at $5,300. He is currently in custody at the Boone County Jail.
