CAMERON, Mo. (AP) - A man and his two children are dead after a fire at a Cameron home that police believe began in the kitchen near a stove.
Police spokesman Heath Henry says officers went to the home at 4:41 p.m. Friday after someone called about a possible fire and three victims.
Officers entered the home and found the bodies of 36-year-old Robert Borchardt, 9-year-old Chelsey Borchardt and 7-year-old Tucker Borchardt. Autopsies were being conducted Saturday to determine the cause of death.
Henry says all evidence suggests an accidental fire, but the investigation is continuing. He says police could not verify media reports that there had been an explosion in the home.
