Man who killed Missouri 3-year-old to spend life in prison
HARRISONVILLE - A Versailles man was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old son in 2012.
Thomas J. Presley was sentenced in the Cass County Justice Center after he pleaded guilty in January to first degree murder, connected to the 2012 death of Blake Litton.
Originally, Presley told Morgan County authorities Litton was injured by a hit-and-run driver on Missouri 135. Investigators determined the child's injuries were not consistent with getting hit by a car.
During an interrogation following the child's death, Presley admitted to kicking and beating him because he urinated on himself. A probable cause statement said Presley texted Litton's mother, Jamie Litton, and told her he had "lost it" and had beaten Blake to the point of paralysis. The statement went on to say Litton attempted to leave work, but her boss would not let her. Presley then drive to Jamie Litton's place of work and told her he would stage a car accident.
Jamie Litton is scheduled to be tried in August for first degree murder.
