Members of the Maries County Sheriff's Office responded to Kingsford Charcoal Plant in Belle early Saturday for a report of a theft and property damage in progress. The suspect was in the process of stealing when Kingsford employees approached him. The suspect fled the scene in possession of the stolen property, which was recovered on a Maries County Road the later that morning. The male suspect recklessly fled running over the curb, causing extensive property damage to the grounds, and then struck and damaged the scale. The male suspect then fled in the truck at a high rate of speed and nearly struck an employee as he was fleeing. This incident was captured on video by the Kingsford security system which allowed members of the sheriff's office to identify the suspect and his vehicle.
