Mature Living Festival attracts hundreds of seniors
COLUMBIA - Boone County Council on Aging held their 24th annual Mature Living Festival in Parkade Plaza. The event aimed to provide resources and services to senior citizens before any health related issues arise. Those resources included flu shots and home health agency.
The annual festival hosted 70 vendors and over 700 people from the community. Boone County Hospital and University Hospital both sponsered to event.
This festival is the area's largest senior fair and continues to be the Boone County Council on Aging's biggest fundraiser. The funds raised will go towards supporting the low-income seniors in the community.
Jessica Macy, the Boone County Council on Aging's executive director, hopes that this event will help the seniors age healthy.
