McCawley Named AMC Player of the Week

LEBANON, Ill. - Derek McCawley of William Woods University has been honored by the American Midwest Conference for his accomplishment on the baseball field for the period covering March 7-13. McCawley was picked as the AMC Baseball Player of the Week.

McCawley, a junior infielder from Phoenix, Ariz., collected five hits in 12 at-bats for a .417 average. He blasted two home runs and drove in 11 runs in leading William Woods to a four-game AMC sweep at Williams Baptist College. McCawley slugged .917 for the week.

McCawley leads the Owls with four home runs and 22 RBI's. He also has a .544 slugging percentage through 19 games.

The Owls (12-7, 4-0) return to action on March 18 and 19. WWU will host Northwestern College in a four-game series.
