MEXICO - Mid America Brick remained on the market Friday, after filing for bankruptcy in February.
Company officials confirmed that if the company is unable to find new investors, nearly 50 jobs will be lost when the plant closes.
The company reopened in 2010 under a new name after the A.P. Green facility closed in 2002.
Mid America Brick is $16 million in debt and hired R.L. Hulett & Co., a St. Louis based investment banking firm, to market the company.
Mid America Brick employees were told not to comment on the issue.
