COLUMBIA - Mill Creek Elementary School gathered Friday to give back to other students in need. The American Red Cross was on hand to accept a check for $833 dollars, which will go towards the reliefs efforts of Super Storm Sandy.
David Griffith of the Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter is extremely happy to see kids donating the community. "To come to a school, and have children give us a check. It's very special to me and it is a lasting memory these kids will have."
The students raised the money by pitching in any way they could. Hundreds of schools were damaged by Sandy and the total damage estimation is more than $60 billion.
