Mike Alden Hosts Press Conference

COLUMBIA - Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden held a press conference tonight at Mizzou Arena.

Alden announced Frank Haith as Missouri's next head basketball coach with the approval from the University of Missouri Board of Curators which met earlier tonight.

Haith will recieve a 6-year contract, with a guaranteed $1.5 million a year.

Alden praised Haith for his recruiting ability and work eithic. The former Miami coach will be introduced as MU's basketball coach Tuesday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at the Clinton Club in Mizzou Arena.

Haith previously stepped down from his head coaching job at the University of Miami where he coached for the past seven years. The coach posted a record of 129-101 and led the Hurricanes to a single NCAA Tournament appearance.

In Atlantic Coast Conference games, Haith went 43-69 including a 10-22 mark the last two seasons.
