Minus Pinkel, Tigers Seek Bowl Eligibility
COLUMBIA (AP) -- Missouri will have to beat Texas Tech today without coach Gary Pinkel, suspended for one game after getting arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Pinkel offered a public apology after getting pulled over following a post-practice dinner with friends Wednesday night. He pleaded guilty Friday and received a suspended sentence that keeps him out of jail.
Where he won't be is on the sideline with the Tigers. Missouri (5-5, 3-4) needs to win one of its last two regular season games to be bowl eligible and is coming off perhaps its best game of the year, a 17-5 upset of then No. 21 Texas. The Red Raiders (5-5, 2-5) also needs a win to become eligible for a bowl game.
