Missouri announces Gill-Caesar won't return to team
COLUMBIA - Missouri Head Basketball Coach Kim Anderson announced Wednesday that guard Montaque Gill-Caesar will not be returning to the team next season.
Anderson said in a statement that Gill-Caesar informed the school of his decision to move on earlier in the week.
"We wish Montaque the best," Anderson said in a statement. "Our program cannot thank Montaque and his family enough for being a part of the Mizzou basketball family."
Although slowed by a back injury for much of his freshman season, Gill-Caesar averaged more than nine points a game for the Tigers in 2014-15.
Gill-Caesar played for Huntington Prep before signing with Mizzou in August 2014.
He is the second key player the Tigers have seen transfer this off season, as Jonathan Williams III committed to Gonzaga in late May.
