Missouri Band Director Accused of Explicit Emails
HERMANN (AP) - An eastern Missouri high school band director is accused of exchanging sexually explicit emails with a 16-year-old student.
KSDK-TV reports that 31-year-old Joshua James was charged last week with using a child in a sexual performance and furnishing pornography to a minor. James is free on $50,000 bond. He does not yet have a listed attorney.
James resigned this month as the high school and middle school band director for the Gasconade County School District in Hermann.
Court documents say that on three occasions this month, the student sent James graphic video and photos of herself. He allegedly emailed an illicit photo of himself in return.
A parent alerted school officials, prompting the police investigation.
